~Wrapping up Festive Friday...Precious Remembrance style…~

Friday, November 28, 2014

Hey, friends!  Festive Friday has put up it's final challenge of the year and it's a lovely one!…

This one will end Wednesday at midnight!  I know several you faithful participants who should have quite a nice Christmas card stash built up by now…just in time for things to start gettin' crazy!!!  I pulled out lots of different stamps for my card, but I really like the sentiment on it...from Precious Remembrance ( the JOY set)…

Sweet, huh?  You can head to Festive Friday and/or Precious Remembrance if you're interested in seeing more!  Thanks for sharing a bit of this very busy weekend with me!  Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

~It's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas~

Friday, November 14, 2014

Hey, friends!  Hope this finds you well!  Christmas is definitely in the air!  We've had cold, COLD temps and even snow flurries today!  (And I don't mind a bit!) It makes SO much more sense to be sharing Christmas cards now that the holidays are right around the corner!  The first card is just a little peek of a Precious Remembrance creation using the new JOY set

Yes…a simple card it is you'll find over on the PR blog…using that journaling card image and some festive layers of papers.  And…life has been so very busy, I've not yet had time to post this card for the most recent Festive Friday challenge

Those are my favorite Christmas colors to decorate with so I enjoyed this challenge!  You have through Wednesday to create something yourself!  We'd love to see it!
Thanks so much for stopping in!

~Precious Remembrance Release, Blog Hop, and Give Away~

Thursday, November 6, 2014

Hello, friends!  I know I've been pretty absent from blog land lately and I apologize!  I do have a card to share today, as Dyane has released a new set at Precious Remembrance…the Joy set!  I'm having computer issues, it seems, and I'm not able to share all the images with you, but there are some fun ones to play with!  I chose to focus on the JOY sentiment and used some fun, non-traditional colors with it…

It's a pretty simple card…I won't bore you with any details in the making of it.  But I do want to share that the rest of the gals on the team have projects to share with you, too.  If you came here from the hop, you came from Sue's blog, and next on the list is Rosemary.  Or, you can head to the Precious Remembrance blog to see the entire list of gals on the hop and leave a comment for a chance to win the new set. Dyane has all the details for you there!
Have fun hopping and good luck!!!

~Precious Remembrance Blog Hop…Halloween Treats!~

Sunday, October 26, 2014

Good morning, everyone!  I have a fun treat for you today!  Dyane of Precious Remembrance is hosting a bloghop full of fun Halloween treat containers!!!  And we were given a bit of a challenge in creating them in that we were to use certain images from the new Beware set.  One requirement was the beware sentiment...

another was the Trick or Treat border…

…and 3 different circle images from the set.  #1…

…on one side of a little decorative tag…and, #2...

…on the other side of that little tag…and, #3...

…in a bottle cap for a cute embellishment for the front of my little container.

All these cute little images were adhered to rectangle of paper rolled into a tube…just a little larger than a tissue tube...that was adhered/closed at the bottom.  Some more of that confetti trim I made and used on my card on the previous post dressed up the top, and black ribbon was threaded through two holes for a little handle.  Fun, fun, FUN!!!  And I couldn't quite stop there.  My friend, Susan, found some cute test tube style containers at the dollar tree.  So I had to add one to my treat bag.
The only problem with these little tubes…no stopper.  But a Reece Cup  with just a dab
of adhesive on each side did the trick, and another circle image with a little clear dome on top finished it off nicely...

 One more look...

Remember, the rest of the designers have treats to share also, so head to Precious Remembrance to see them all and leave them some love!!!  And by the way…the Beware set is on sale this weekend…for $12.99!!!  A bargain indeed!

Thanks for hopping in!

~Festive Friday and Precious Remembrance Halloween Fun…~

Friday, October 24, 2014

Hey, everyone!  I have a card up at Precious Remembrance using the BEWARE set.  My card features this fun embellishment made using an image from the set, a bottle cap and some homemade crepe paper trim.  Lots of fun to make!  Check it out HERE if you'd like!!!

And now for another festive card…  Festive Friday introduces a new challenge today…

And my take…something fun and whimsical…

I obviously got my inspiration from the red gift with white hearts.  I love hearts, and Christmas is as good a time as any to use them.  It's all about the love, people…all. about. the. love!  Got my Lawn Fawn friends (Winter Sparrows) out again for this one…along with my Simon Says Falling Hearts stencil and a heart from the SS set, Plenty of Hearts.  (The tiny hearts here are covered with clear glitter, although it doesn't show in my photo.)  I shortened the little branch from the WS set to make it fit the heart a little better by masking the end of it with a piece of tape before stamping...then trimming.  The holly is just a random stamp I used to add to the Christmas feel.  It was a fun card to make, I'll say that!!!  Since Mr. Simon is hosting an 'anything goes' challenge, and almost everything on this card was purchased from there...I think I'll link up!
The inspiration from Festive Friday never disappoints…check it out!!!
You have almost 2 weeks to come up with your own festive creation!
And I thank you very kindly for your visit!!!

~pretty in pink~

Friday, September 19, 2014

Hey, all!!!  I'm here today with a little Festive Friday inspiration to go along with the current challenge…already a week underway…

Now, I have to agree with a couple of the participants…I'm more traditional when it comes to decorating at the holidays…but this sure is a pretty color scheme to work with for something different.  I found some pretty (old) paper that was vintage inspired…I think it's Melissa Frances…some pale pink card stock and a pillow box template, and got to work…OK,…maybe 'playing' would be a better word…

…there was no work involved when it came to creating with these lovely colors!

This first one was easy…tied the trim around the box and embellished with a chipboard snowflake I already had on hand and an unused silver Spellbinder medallion die cut.  Finished that one off with the button and jewel.
The next one was a little more fussy…

…layered the paper on the card stock and added the doily and velvet ribbon.  Then came the Simon Says snowflakes.  (Those things would make a pile of cow poop look pretty, I think! They're so intricate!)  The center embellie is from a Hobby Lobby Spare Parts set.

I gave the last one a horizontal orientation with a half a doily, tied a little twine around it, and layered on the same snowflakes.  These dies are so easy to use, by the way, with the glittered cardstock.  Even though this pre-glittered paper is heavy…they cut fine using the metal shim, and the weight of the paper holds up better when it's time to pull your cut away from the rest of the paper.  They're so intricate, they're not the easiest things to glitter yourself…so I stick with the heavy pre-sparkled stuff!;)  You can see I cut a pink one and layered it under my top white one.  I liked just the hint of pink showing through.  A glittered button and pearl finished this one off!

And that's it…a basket of pretty pink pillow boxes to give away at Christmas!
You have until this Wednesday to get in on this pretty pink challenge at Festive Friday, and I know the team has more lovely inspiration waiting for you there!

Thanks for stopping in today!!!

~Day 3…Hopping with Tombow USA and Precious Remembrance~

Sunday, September 7, 2014

Here we are on the last day of the Blog Hop with Tombow and Precious Remembrance.  It's been a treat to play with these products this week, and as you know…YOU have a chance to add LOTS of great products to your crafting arsenal by joining in the hop...

Yep…someone who hops along and comments will win Precious Remembrance's Coffee LoveOh So Fun, and Thanks stamp sets, and Tombow's Dual Brush Pen set (Retro), along with both the MONO Aqua Liquid Glue and the MONO Glue Pen!

Let's get to the final day's inspiration, shall we?  I have two very different cards to share today, so I'll be brief with the chit chat.  I'll highlight the Tombow and Precious Remembrance products used, and if you have any questions about anything else, just let me know in your comment.

My first card would be for you neat and tidy, CAS designers.  When the Thanks set first came out, I designed a card (one of my personal all time fave's) using this sentiment with the '2' and the 'u'…

I've always wanted to try it again in a different design, so that's what I've done today…with the help of the Mono Aqua Liquid Glue.  I used it to stack up several of the 2's and u's to give them thickness and dimension, like chipboard.  Those were some skinny little numbers and letters, but the Mono glue was perfect for it…able to apply the tiniest dabs of glue with no mess.

Next up is a much shabbier card using the cute cups from the Coffee Love set…

Tombow was generous enough to provide the team with a set of the Dual Brush Pens (along with the glues) and I had the Coffee Love images in mind when I chose the Portrait set.  These colors were perfect for giving the cups and sleeves some warm, distressed color while working with one of my favorite colors…PINK!;)

Those cups aren't giant…it's a small card…only about 41/2" square.;)
I've enjoyed sharing with you over the last few days and appreciate your visits!  And I most certainly appreciate Tombow's invitation to hop with them, and the generous products they provided…it was a joy working with them!  (Not to mention...I found a new glue love along the way!;)
You can carry on with the hop by visiting Jennie or heading to Tombow to start back at the beginning.

Thanks so much!

~Day 2…Hopping with Tombow USA and Precious Remembrance~

Saturday, September 6, 2014

Hello, and welcome back for day 2 of the Tombow / Precious Remembrance Blog Hop.  If you missed out yesterday…take a look at the sweet prize package these two companies are offering up at the close of the hop...

Yep…someone will win Precious Remembrance's Coffee LoveOh So Fun, and Thanks stamp sets, and Tombow's Dual Brush Pen set (Retro), along with both the MONO Aqua Liquid Glue and the MONO Glue Pen.
For today's project, I chose one of my favorite little sentiments from the PR Thanks set

You can see I created a sunny space behind the sentiment.  (All the colors used on today's project are from the Jellybean Dual Pen set.)  I scribbled down a little bit of the yellow and orange on one of my acrylic blocks.  Then, using my aqua-flo brush, I started by applying the lighter yellow, and then deepened the center with the orange.  I stamped the sentiment on top of this sunny little area, using a dab of Post-it tape to cover the heart.  After stamping in black (minus the heart),  I cleaned the stamp, inked up the heart only with one of the pink Dual Pens, lined the image back up, and stamped.  (Glossy Accents was added to the heart.)
Then I had fun and using some blue, green, and violet Dual Pens, and more water on some little die cut clouds…

That little strip of glittered paper was done so easily with the Liquid Glue.  The broad end of the dispenser has tiny little flexible 'fingers' that spread the glue thinly and evenly all the way down my skinny little strip.  Then, I used the opposite end to dab the tiniest bit of glue on the sequins.  Oooo…I DO love this glue…SO much control with the fine tip side…it's a new favorite!!!

No…I'm not a big 'marker girl'…but I found working with these Dual Pens is such a forgiving process…you can't help but have fun and feel good about the finished product!  Hope you like it, too!

Now, if you're following the hop, you came to me from Melissa Chipperfield's blog, and if you missed her or are just starting the hop, you may want to head back to Tombow USA for the complete hop list.  Otherwise, continue on with Jennie Garcia's blog.
To be eligible for the prize package above, you'll need to comment on all the Designers blogs, as well as the company blog, and you'll also want to 'like' Tombow USA and Precious Remembrance on Facebook!

Enjoy the rest of the hop!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

~Blog Hop with Tombow USA and Precious Remembrance~

Friday, September 5, 2014

Hey, everyone!  Welcome!  Today begins a fun Blog Hop with Tombow and Precious Remembrance teaming up to bring you lots of inspiration and a great give-away...

Yep…someone will win Precious Remembrance's Coffee Love, Oh So Fun, and Thanks stamp sets, and Tombow's Dual Brush Pen set (Retro), along with both the MONO Aqua Liquid Glue and the MONO Glue Pen
Look fun???  Well, I hope so!  Designers from both Tombow and Precious Remembrance have projects to share using these fun products! So...let the inspiration begin...

I used the 'Oh So Fun' set for today's project.  You can see I first stamped the small jar in a soft gray, covering the card.  Then I stamped an extra in black and cut it out.  I used some bright and cheery colors from Tombow's Jellybean Pen Set to add some 'candy hearts' to my jar using the tiny heart included in the 'Coffee Love' set.  I also added just a touch of glitter to the hearts (which doesn't really show here) using the Mono Glue Pen.  I stamped the HB sentiment, popped the jar up using foam adhesive, and added the twine and bow with the Aqua Liquid Glue, and was all done!

If you're following the hop, you came to me from Melissa Chipperfield's blog, and if you missed her or are just starting the hop, you may want to head back to Tombow USA for the complete hop list.  Otherwise, continue on with Jennie Garcia's blog.
To be eligible for the prize package above, you'll need to comment on all the Designers blogs, as well as the company blog, and you'll also want to 'like' Tombow USA and Precious Remembrance on Facebook!
ENJOY!!!

~New Festive Friday inspiration and Precious Remembrance~

Friday, August 29, 2014

Happy Friday, everyone!  I have a card over at Precious Remembrance using Dyane's new Fall Colors set…

Feel free to pop over and check it out if you have a moment…it's a fun set to play with!

Also, today begins a new challenge at Festive Friday

I LOVED the last one…never thought I could love working with the colors of Kraft, black and white for Christmas,  but I did…and so did the participants!  There were so many great cards…for me it was the hardest challenge to choose for yet!  I've carried some of that black over to this week's card, too…couldn't help it…

I've used some Simple Stories papers that were perfect for the look I was going for, and several different PTI sets for my images and sentiment (always happy to answer questions about those).  You'll find more beautiful inspiration waiting for you over at the Festive Friday blog!

Sure hope my friends in the States enjoy some relaxing time with friends and family this holiday weekend…we sure are looking forward to some of that ourselves!!!  Thanks for dropping in today!!!

a uniquely Festive Friday...

Friday, August 22, 2014

Hello, everyone!  Here sharing a card for this unique Christmas inspiration over at the Festive Friday blog...

Now, I don't know about you...but this one had me thinkin', "hmmmm...."
After a little playing around, I came up with something I actually like...

It started with the striped frame and fun sentiment on vellum.  I knew I wanted to incorporate some Kraft colored snowflakes so the natural place to start was the little die cut one on the frame...then thought it would be nice to sprinkle some under and around the frame.  And finally, I knew I needed something fun down the left side...and she was done!
I was surprised to see so many people jump right in on this challenge I found a little tricky!  We'd love to see what you can do with it...you have until Wed! (PLENTY o' time!;)

I had a couple birthday projects for hubby to share but my computers are not cooperating. Took me about an hour just to get these two pix on (grrrr.....)
Thanks so much for stopping!

New Precious Remembrance...

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Good morning, friends!  I'm here sharing a new set from Precious Remembrance today...

...Fall Colors...aren't those lovely images???  I had lots of fun playing around with different approaches to those leaves, and for my first card, I've ended up with a very simple and somewhat elegant look...

The leaf is embossed in gold, as is the sentiment. You can see I added color to the open spaces of the leaf with some ink and a wet brush.  I added a little more around it to give a bit of a shadowed look. I wanted that leaf to take center stage, so I kept other elements to a minimum...adding some texture with the woodgrain, dimension with the tag, and a couple other hints of metalic gold in the twine and skinny strip of paper. It IS a fun set to play with!  If you head over to the Precious Remembrance blog, check out what the rest of the team has done and leave a comment, you could win one of your own to play with!
Good luck!!

~pokey puppy, I am~

Monday, August 11, 2014

Hello, friends!  Here I am...poking along, it seems...and stopping in to share a couple cards.  The first for the Festive Friday challenge that's nearly over, I'm sorry to say.  But if you started to get your 'Christmas on' last month with some of the Christmas in July challenges, why not let this photo inspiration keep you moving in the right direction...

You have until Wednesday at midnight to whip something up.  Here's mine...

We'll have to call that a somewhat loose interpretation of the sketch...no cute vehicle stamps in my stash, unfortunately.  But at times like this, I'm so happy to have that versatile Hero Arts wreath!  I put those sweet little Lawn Fawn 'winter sparrows' to work, too!
I was in need of a birthday card last week too...

I thoroughly enjoyed working with that little 'be happy' set from Papertrey...the companion dies make it so versatile and lots of fun to play with!
OK...this pokey puppy has gotta keep movin' along!  Sure wish I could stay longer!;)
Thanks so much for dropping in!
